Blueberry Mango Smoothies!
First one I tried goes like this:
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup mango chunks
1 cup plain Greek yogurt (I used Trader
Joes Organic low fat plain yogurt because I had a container I needed
to use ASAP)
¼ cup vanilla soy milk, almond milk,
skim milk, or water (I used almond milk)
Place it all in a blender and blend!
My thoughts on my first smoothie
I
liked it!
I am curious if it would taste much
different with Greek yogurt instead of plain yogurt. I had a good
balance of mango and blueberry flavors.
Now for my second Blueberry Mango
Smoothie
1 cup vanilla flavored soy milk or
regular milk (I used vanilla almond milk)
1 ¼ cups reduced-fat vanilla yogurt (I
used greek yogurt)
1 cup frozen mango chunks
1 cup frozen blueberries
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
So I have been reading a lot lately about fiber!
Fiber is found in plant based foods like fruits vegetables and grains. Fiber is wanted in a diet because it well helps you be regular in your bathroom visits if you know what I mean :) and it helps your body retain water which fools your body into thinking its full, therefore eating less.
So I made the smoothie above and added 1 teaspoon of flaxseed and 1 teaspoon of chia seed.
Again it tastes GREAT!
you can taste the seed flavor in it but it is not necessarily a bad taste (and smell it). So maybe if you end up not liking that taste or smell put less then i did!
